Regulatory Compliance and Advisory Reports on Fire Safety

print

Principle Objective

  • The identification of those situations or areas of the client’s work which contravene prescribed legal requirements or fail to follow recognised good-practice guidelines. This process involves checks and assessments of:
    • Installations and systems.
    • Processes.
    • Design parameters.
  • Assessment of the series of measures * contained in the General Action Plan for Fire Hazard Reduction established by MAPFRE Empresas.

Measures that MAPFRE Empresas recommend assessing in order to reduce fire risks and hazards
They are classified into four broad groups, which are shown below:

  • Installations and processes: Studying these allows us to establish potential ignition sources.
  • Evacuation and internal company organisation: These provide an accurate picture of the level of protection deriving from human factors
  • Construction measures: Passive protection.
  • Fire protection installations: Active measures.

Features of the regulatory compliance and advisory reports on fire protection

  • Businesses gain the opportunity to begin reducing fire risks and hazards gradually, both in terms fire probability and intensity.
  • Improvements are classified in terms of priority and, consequently, the reports act as useful tools in decision-making with regard to company risk management policy.
  • The client has the opportunity to voice any concerns regarding safety, which may lead to a comprehensive assessment at a later stage. For example, we can study:
    • Any project plans for fire protection installations that have previously been presented to the client. This ensures that such projects are handled suitably.
    • Specific problems of a diverse nature that the client may be unaware of, (for example, the use of highly-oxidising salts, the existence of sandwich panels, newly detected risks that workers may be exposed to, and so on).

* If required this assessment can be expanded and carried out as a complete project
